Ensimag Rubrique International 2022

Coming for an exchange

Ensimag hosts foreign students in the framework of students' exchange programmes.

Foreign students registered in a partner university can apply for a stay at Ensimag, either for one semester or for one academic year. They can register to courses in our first, second or third year (equivalent to last year of undergraduate studies, and graduate studies).
Please ask for information at your home university, to see if it enjoys an exchange agreement with Ensimag.

Students have to choose their courses in agreement with their home university. Preferably these courses are to be chosen in a single year of study (either 1st, 2nd or 3rd year) in order to avoid timetable conflicts, and for a better integration in the class. Some complementary courses can be chosen in another study year, but all courses must be compatible; and students must meet the prerequisites.
The exchange programme guidelines establishes that you must have sufficient knowledge of the French language.
For basic exchange students:
- classes taught in French: B1 level in French is recommended, according to the CECR
- classes taught in English: A2 level in French is recommended
We require a B1 level of English for our master of science programs (MoSIG, MSIAM, CySec, ORCO).

The study programme of each student must be validated by the Professor in charge of international relations upon arrival, and if necessary by his home university tutor. The student will then have to respect this pedagogical contract, and commit himself not to change this programme.
Students must register for at least 15 ECTS credits per semester. While the maximum number of credits per semester is 30 ECTS.

Each course will be assessed by an exam (exams are all grouped at the end of a study period, i.e. at the end of the semester). At the end of the academic year, the student will then receive an official transcript with local grades (on a scale of 20) and the ECTS grades, so that his home university can transfer credits towards the completion of his degree. These transcripts will be available only after the jury is held (mid-July).

All information and application forms are processed by the international office of Ensimag.
A specific online application form is to be filled by April 30th  for an arrival in September, and beginning of November for the second semester. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

A jury meets on mid-May in order to evaluate the application forms. Then students are informed on the status of their application, if they are accepted they receive an acceptance letter as well as information to organize their stay.
