Objectives

This course provides and introduction to techniques for programming internet services for the World-Wide-Web.

The course is introduced by a retrospective of the World-Wide-Web. Different technologies are presented for the design of dynamic web applications. The course is divided into several areas. (X)HTML and CSS technologies are introduced for the creation of so-called static pages. Then service side programming is introduced using PHP and MySQL. Finally an introduction to JavaScript is proposed including the use of the jQuery library. The course is constantly evolving and is illustrated by concrete examples. The final course objective is to design a real application involving the knowledge acquired.
