Eleven students, from Grenoble INP - Phelma, UGA, the Pharmaceutical faculty, and the Chemistry and Biology faculty of Grenoble, represented the Grenoble - Alpes site at the MIT in Boston during the iGEM ("International Genetically Engineered Machine") world competition.

Antoine Kuhnast, a student at Grenoble INP - Phelma, UGA, has taken a year off to fully devote himself to his project. “In the industrial sector, communicating in a noisy environment while remaining safe is virtually impossible. ”. It is specifically this issue that drove Antoine to create his startup, SafeHear. Thanks to an innovative hearing protection solution, the product aims to preserve the auditory health of professionals that work in noisy environments!

Léon Guyard is a Grenoble INP - Phelma, UGA 2020 graduate. He completed the Embedded electronic systems (SEI) course and is the co-founder of the Osiris Agriculture startup alongside Henri Desequelles and Rodolphe Cockenpot. All three are engineers and sons of farmers - they are passionate about agriculture and seek to contribute to this sector that has given them so much. “Farmers currently work 54 hours a week on average, and yet half of these operations are not profitable without subsidies.” The Osiris Agriculture startup aims to develop an autonomous robot capable of automating irrigation, fertilisation, weeding and crop protection.

A graduate of Grenoble INP - Phelma, UGA, Materials science and engineering (SIM) course, and a doctoral student at 3SR*, Clara Aimar has just been awarded first place by the jury at the “My Thesis in 180 Seconds” (MT180) competition at the Alpes finals. She works alongside Décathlon on polymer foams for sports shoes.

“Ingénieurs Citoyens” and “Adelphie”, two student associations at Grenoble INP - UGA, organised the first gender equality week, which was held entirely online from 1 to 5 February 2021. A number of events were offered to the students, including a conference/round table discussion on the theme of “gender equality at work”. The guests for that afternoon included Céline Ternon, in charge of the “Gender Equality” mission at Grenoble INP - UGA, and vice-president of the Parité Science association, as well as Karine Froger and Delphine Marhic, both of whom are engineers at Renault.
