5-7 months - Start on February - In recent years, regulatory frameworks and standards adopted worldwide have reinforced and implemented the circular economy and bioeconomy. In this context, cellulose is an excellent candidate for new high-performance bio-based materials. It offers advantages in terms of strength, lightweighting and barrier properties. Companies are increasingly interested in producing them. The internship's proposal concerns the development of new cellulosic materials with an innovative character, in collaboration with one of our industrial partners in the field of packaging, or molded cellulose.

5-6 months - Start in February/March - In recent years, legislation has been introduced at various levels with the goal of improving the circularity of materials and the supply of non-petroleum-based materials. In this context, cellulose is an excellent candidate due to its recyclability, origin, and properties. It offers advantages in terms of strength, lightness, and barrier properties. Manufacturers are looking at cellulose-based materials as alternatives to petroleum-based plastic single-use packaging. The proposal below concerns the development of new, innovative cellulose materials, in collaboration with one of our industrial partners in the packaging sector.

5-6 months - Start in February/March - Recent advances in our understanding of lignocellulosic biomass are opening up new challenges in materials engineering. For several years now, numerous biosourced solutions have been emerging to replace certain petroleum-based products in order to limit soil, water and air pollution problems. However, these solutions often require very high levels of water and energy consumption, or use petroleum-based adhesives. The DryBioMat project therefore proposes to assess the potential of dry processes for manufacturing biosourced materials, without water or adhesives, that are high-performance, energy- and cost-efficient, economically viable and transferable to industrial scale.
