Content(s)

From the characteristics and requirements of distributed applications, this course presents the middleware software used to implement and install distributed applications. Middleware software tools share the characteristics of allowing applications – implemented in different languages and running on heterogeneous hardware and software systems -, to interact and inter-operate to offer a global functionality. The course surveys the CORBA standard and associated services, message bus (MOM) and component oriented approaches. As much as possible, practical exercises will be associated with tutorial presentations.
