Introduction : access and core networks, role of operators
Optical tranport and access network :
- Basic components of optical fibre systems, WDM technology, optical amplification
- Capacity enhancement (100 Gb/s),transparency and agility (GMPLS)
Protocols :
- SDH
- HDLC
- High speed Ethernet
+ 1 lab on serial link and 1 lab on optical fiber systems
Prerequisites1st year course on networks
