The objective of this course is to present the concepts, methods and algorithms used in information access systems on the web. With the massive production of data on the web, Information Retrieval, once seen as a specialty at the intersection of documentary and computer science, has become one of the major technologies of the 21st century. This course is structured in three parts.
Part I: semantic web Part II: represention and requests on tree structures Part III: text mining, document representation, ranking
Basic knowledge in algebra, probabilities, languages, databases, complexity and machine learning.
The assessment is a written exam.
