Goals

The year is divided into two distinct semesters.

The first semester is mainly devoted to developing professional and communicational skills and training students to satisfy TOEIC and/or TOEFL requirements.

The second semester modular courses provide students with the possibility to develop language strategies and cultural awareness and practice skills useful in a host of professional, social or cultural contexts.

Content

Students may change teacher for semester two.
Practice will be provided to develop professional and social know-how : writing reports and abstracts, cover letters and CVs, meetings, debating, negotiating and problem-solving strategies, hi-tech product demonstration, job interviews, presenting a research subject etc.

Possible themes for second semester modular courses can be : English for Professional Purposes, Cultural Issues seen through film and documentary analysis, (arts movements, literature, cultural aspects), theatre techniques, etc.

Students are encouraged to take an active part in managing their own progression and will also be expected to review grammatical and functional notions, work on pronunciation and improve reading and listening comprehension on their own in the language lab.(through toeic or toefl practice for example)

(3 compulsory visits to the lab - semester one)



Prerequisites

The course calls for a high level of autonomy required for personal research as well as active participation in various projects.

The end-of-year mark is the average of the marks gained for both semesters.

N2 = N1 (pas de rattrapage)
